Swatchy Schemey

Introduction      My chosen topic for my brochure is going to focus around the importance of food banks and volunteering. I choose this topic because I have done many fundraisers and volunteering through the food bank near my house and it has made a huge impact on my life. I am extremely grateful to be able to have food on my table everyday and some people are not as fortunate. I believe it is imperative that people volunteer and help out, not for personal gain but just to help. Especially with the devastating outcomes from the pandemic.  Photo Of Inspiration What I learned      When working on this project I learned how to utilize tint and different fonts. This project was also able to teach me what colors look good and how color schemes really do affect a lot. It was very easy to work with InDesign based on the video posted for our class. I think the hardest part about this assignment was matching the colors correctly to the picture. I will say...

Heal Thyself!

Image
Introduction  In today's blog post I am going to be covering how to heal and clone images. I am extremely excited to finally be learning this part of photoshop because there are multiple things that can interrupt an image that you want to get rid of. I decided to heal the tree behind Kevin Hart and try to heal the sunspots in the image.  In class, we learned about all the different tools to use. In one instance, the weekly video showed me how to use the spot healing and patch tool to remove unwanted content, as I mentioned I wanted to do before (Adobe, 2016). Additionally, it was interesting learning how to apply a filter and blur the background in reading 1 (Adobe, 2017).  Before Healing  After Healing  Screenshot Of Layers

Meme this!

Image
Introduction  I decided to do my meme project on a re-creation of the "We want you" poster from Uncle Sam. I choose a picture of Kevin Hart and put him against the HPU background. I wanted to create a meme that had something to do with HPU because they always try so hard to get students to come here. What is better than a fake celebrity endorsement!  I was able to follow along with the recording from our class to complete this assignment. It was extremely fun to isolate Kevin Hart using the selection and lasso tool (Kabili, 2017). Additionally, adding a mask and learning to convert him into a smart object was useful. I cannot wait to add the words and add an adjustment layer to possibly change the color of Kevin Hart's sweater.  Screenshot  Meme

Adjusted Profile Picture

Image
Adjusted Profile Picture I start my blog by showing the original image, adjusted image, and screenshot of my work. This is a picture from my senior year and I feel it could possibly be used for a profile picture because it was done professionally.  Original Image  Final Image  Screenshot  What I learned  I learned how to work with masks and adjustment layers throughout this assignment. This was an extremely fun way to change certain things in my image. Working with adobe adjustment layers allows me to make nondestructive changes to the colors and tones of my picture without permanently changing the pixels ("Adobe, How to Use an Image Adjustment Layer"). I love this picture, but wanted to change the color of my pants and the background. I was able to color everything black that I didn't want to change in hue/saturation and then change the color to purple. Additionally, I was able to add a black and white background to my photo. In conclusion, working with differe...

Blog 01 Composition

Image
Introduction  Welcome everyone to my COM-1113-03 blog. I am going to be discussing how to "work the shot" and different compositions. Professional photographs take a lot of creative and intellectual work. The reading dove into the many different shots and angles we are able to take a photographers. That is what I'm going to be discussing throughout this blog post.    Theme  My theme is going to be trees, aka growth. I am in my second semester of my freshman year which has brought a lot of growth. This is how I decided what I wanted my theme to be. Next, I started to think of what could potentially represent growth that I could show through photos. What better subject then nature and trees. They are continually putting down roots and growing as big as they could, even through the hardest circumstances.  Creative Shot  I wanted to start by showing off my creative shot because I believe this is the photo that really makes me fall in love with photography....
